"NR looks for new alliances as £5bn track work tendered"
The RTM shared the news that "Network Rail has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) process for its tender exercise on the next generation of track works contracts, worth up to £5bn.The PIN was issued via the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), and the works are valued at up to £5bn over 10 years, starting in 2019.
Currently Network Rail is spending £130m every week on improvements for passengers through the Railway Upgrade Plan, including maintaining Britain’s 20,000 miles of track."
