"Grayling sets 2019 start for £3bn Transpennine rail upgrade"
Today, the Construction Enquirer has shared a news article stating that "Transport Secretary Chris Grayling confirmed work will start in Spring 2019 on a £3bn programme of upgrades to the Transpennine route.
He also announced an Independent Affordability Review to look at the cost and value for money of delivering the major Crossrail 2 scheme in London. Mike Gerrard, former managing director of Thames Tideway Tunnel, has agreed to lead the review, which will report back in the summer."
