Customer Service Officer 
Location: Borehamwood Hertfordshire
Salary: £18.98 per hour (umbrella)

A local authority in Borehamwood is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join their Waste Team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting residents and handling enquiries related to the council’s new waste rounds and other customer service functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Provide accurate information and aim to resolve enquiries at the first point of contact.
  • Handle a diverse range of enquiries, including complaints and sensitive issues, with professionalism and empathy.
  • Escalate enquiries to the appropriate team when necessary, ensuring a smooth resolution process.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and follow up as required.

Requirements:

Experience in a customer service environment, ideally handling complaints and sensitive issues.
Strong communication skills with the ability to handle a high volume of enquiries.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver a high standard of service.
Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach.
Experience working in a helpdesk environment would be an advantage.
