Salary: £45,021 - £48,060

A South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the borough’s sustainable transport initiatives and play a key role in delivering innovative projects to enhance the local transport network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, deliver, and monitor an E-Bike and E-Scooter hire scheme across the borough.
• Oversee the installation and management of cycle parking, EV infrastructure, and car clubs.
• Support the delivery of the borough’s EV, walking, and cycling strategies.
• Review and provide feedback on planning applications, liaising and negotiating with relevant stakeholders.

Duties Include:

• Conduct site surveys and assessments.
• Create designs, including CAD drawings.
• Carry out internal consultations.
• Consult Cabinet Members and Ward Councillors, preparing reports and decision sheets for approval.
• Liaise and consult with key stakeholders, including statutory bodies, TfL, and neighbouring boroughs.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in project and programme management within traffic and transport services, preferably in a local authority setting.
• Competence in scheme monitoring, reporting, and budget management.
• In-depth knowledge of the London Plan, Local Plan, and various TfL strategies.
