About the Role:
A North London Local Authority is seeking a Climate Action Strategic Lead to drive forward its climate adaptation and resilience initiatives. This key role involves developing and delivering strategies and projects that align with Borough’s ambitious climate goals. Working closely with senior officers, you will help shape the borough's climate adaptation programme and turn recommendations from the Council's Climate Panel into actionable projects.

Working closely with senior officers, you will help shape the borough's climate adaptation programme and turn recommendations from the Council's Climate Panel into actionable projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver climate adaptation and resilience strategies, with a focus on real, lasting impact.
- Collaborate closely with senior officers across departments to ensure alignment with Council's climate adaptation goals.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify climate policy developments, funding opportunities, innovations, and external factors impacting the programme.
- Foster strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including council programmes, other councils, and organisations leading climate change initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, championing the agenda for carbon reduction and climate adaptation.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing effective, impactful strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of methods, tools, and techniques for achieving sustainable change in climate adaptation and resilience.
- Strong understanding of current and future climate change practices and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
